The Children’s Aid Society of Toronto (CAST) is proud to announce that we have been selected as one of Canada’s Best Diversity Employers for 2025. This recognition highlights organizations across the country that demonstrate exceptional workplace diversity, equity and inclusion programs, with a focus on supporting women, visible minorities, persons with disabilities, Indigenous peoples, and 2SLGBTQ+ communities.

This recognition reflects CAST’s deep commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace for all employees, while also ensuring that our work in child welfare and across the organization is rooted in equity, diversity and inclusion.

Key Initiatives Contributing to This Recognition:

  • Expansion of our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) for equity-deserving staff. These ERGs provide vital spaces for connection, learning, support and self-care.
  • Launch of our Branch Equity Committees which promote best practices in equity, diversity and inclusion across our staff complement and departments.
  • Recent Census Survey which helped identify areas of accomplishment, improvement and opportunities to ensure that equity-deserving groups are well-represented throughout the organization.
  • Expansion of our Mental Health Benefits to help support staff mental health and other wellness needs.
  • Implementation of our SOGIE (Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, and Gender Expression) Framework which provides a structured approach to supporting 2SLGBTQ+ children and youth, and their families.

The 2025 Canada’s Best Diversity Employers are featured in a special Globe and Mail online publication, and you can read CAST’s article here.

This achievement is a testament to the dedication of our staff and leadership in fostering an inclusive and supportive workplace. We thank our employees for their ongoing commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, both within our organization and in the communities we serve.
