Adoption
At the Children’s Aid Society of Toronto (CAST), we strive to keep children and youth with their families or extended communities. When this cannot occur, and a child or youth needs a permanent home, we turn to Adoptive Parents who offer them lifelong connections, stability and security.
In Ontario, adoption takes place in several ways including through three systems:
- Public child welfare system
- Private adoption agencies
- Inter-country adoption agencies
The Adoption in Ontario: Private, Public and Inter-Country brochure outlines these three adoption streams and how to access them. Please also visit Adoption Council of Ontario’s website for more information and a register for their how “How to Adopt” webinar.
