On behalf of the Board of Directors I am pleased to announce that Paul Rosebush has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Children’s Aid Society of Toronto. He is joining the team on September 4, 2018.

Paul Rosebush started his career in front line social work. He holds a Bachelor and Masters in Social Work, along with a number of certifications in health care leadership, risk management, alternative dispute resolution and various clinical certificates in counselling and therapeutic modalities.

Over the last 11 years Paul has served as the CEO of complex integrated and multi-site health and social services organizations, most recently as the President and CEO of the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, a system that includes four rural hospitals. Prior to this, he was the President and CEO of the Haliburton Highlands Health Service which includes two hospitals and two long term care homes. In addition to these roles, he has worked for Community Living and Family Services and began his career as a front line social worker for the Canadian Forces, a job he held for 20 years, and where he was deployed to Rwanda and Bosnia.

Through the course of his career he has served on a large number of nonprofit Boards and committees including the Ontario Trillium Foundation, a community legal clinic, Phoenix Centre for Children’s Mental Health and the United Way. Through the search process with Paul, one of the things that struck the search committee was his commitment to equity and diversity, which aligns with the goals of CAST. This, along with his values-based leadership style, and team player values, will help ensure his success as he takes the organization through the next phase of its evolution. In talking to Paul, he expressed how anxious he is to get started, meet with staff and stakeholders and begin his in-depth learning about the groundbreaking work that the CAST team does every day.

I want to thank all of the people who participated in the search process, including the search committee and advisory panel, who played a critical role in helping us determine those key leadership and community factors that are required in the CAST President and CEO.

Please join me in welcoming Paul Rosebush to the Children’s Aid Society of Toronto.
